RSM Summer Breakaway 2020
RSM Summer Breakaway 2020
It’s been a crazy couple of months! We know so many things have changed for you and that many losses have been part of your school year ending. We made the decision to cancel our summer camp based on information on hand and educated projections (Student Life has since cancelled all summer camps for 2020). We did not make that decision lightly. While that still seems like the right decision for our church, we want you to know we have NOT forgotten you! We have been hard at work casting vision, setting goals, and making plans so that we can still have a summer event where we serve, learn, and have fun together.
Some things we did not want to lose were a time together, a time away, and a time of focused teaching and worship. With those goals in mind we’ve come up with a never-done-before event called Summer Breakaway. We know the past weeks and months have been hard and that we are still living in a time of slow re-entry. With our current plan to gather for worship as a church on July 5th, we decided the dates of July 13-15 were appropriate for an RSM event. We want to “break away” together!
Our plan is to serve together in the Edmond/OKC area on Day 1, float together on the Illinois River on Day 2, and spend the morning of Day 3 playing games, with worship and teaching times on the evenings of Days 1 and 2. We’d love for all to be involved with as much of the plan as possible. On the afternoon of July 13th, after serving together locally, we’ll travel to War Eagle Resort in Tahlequah, OK for two nights. We’ll return around dinner time on Wednesday, July 15th. The cost is $150 and a deposit of $25 is due by June 7th.
