30 DAYS OF PRAYER | DAY 26 – Praying for RedemptionKIDS

I love that almost 51% of Redemption church attendance is found in the kids’ classrooms, from babies to 5th graders. These kids have already been the focus of much prayer at Redemption. Primarily, that focus has been seeking Jesus and asking for His help in teaching these kids to love Him. Jesus taught that kids are so important. In fact, Jesus said welcoming a child is like welcoming Himself and God.

“Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me.” Mark 9:37

I think that should make all of us look at RedemptionKIDS with new eyes, knowing that when your kids come in, so does Jesus.

As Redemption church launches, and as God allows more and more families to become covenant members of Redemption that are seeking to live missional, gospel-centered lives in their communities, these families will bring their kids with them. The spiritual lives of the children that will become members of Redemption is such an important aspect of Redemption church ministry. While parents play a much greater part in the spiritual growth of their children, that children are given an opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus is the main goal of what occurs each week when children are dropped off in kids’ classrooms.

We want to impart to RedemptionKIDS the knowledge that the entire Bible points to Jesus and reveals Jesus to us. We want them to understand that the gospel means Jesus went in our place. We pray each week that your kids don’t leave church having learned a rule to live by. We pray that they learn how God’s plan was always Jesus, and how much they are loved.

Please join us in praying for RedemptionKIDS and what we do each week, as we learn about Jesus and God’s word, sing worship songs to our awesome God, pray, get crafty, play fun games, which may or may not have a point. Some might even be described as gross.

Pray for the salvation and spiritual growth of RedemptionKIDS, and for those kids that aren’t yet attending Redemption. Please pray for their weeks, tests at school, friends, interactions with family and school mates. Pray that they come to church willing to learn and participate.

Pray that Jesus remains the focus each week, and never becomes the after thought. Please reinforce what your kids learn at home each week, using the information we send home with them. We pray they can talk with you about Jesus, and how each story we talk about points to Him. That your kids did learn and listen to why that story matters, how the story is basically about Jesus and how it reveals a truth about Jesus.

Pray for the teachers that come to serve each week, giving up their time in a worship service and at home preparing a lesson. Pray as they welcome your kids and Jesus in each week.
