Redemption Church: New Location at Cheyenne Middle School in Edmond

News Release – July 3, 2017

Redemption Church will begin Sunday worship gatherings in a new location at Cheyenne Middle School (1271 W Covell Road, Edmond) at 10:30 AM.

Redemption Church is non-denominational and began as a new church in 2014. The church will hold worship services and children’s classes in Cheyenne Middle School as a continuation of their long-term partnership with Edmond Public Schools. “We have had a great relationship with John Ross Elementary for three years now and have enjoyed investing in the Edmond community,” says Jeff Lawrence, pastor of Redemption Church. “Our church has grown, and we will enjoy the much needed bigger space at Cheyenne Middle School. We are excited to get to know new friends at Cheyenne this coming school year.”

Redemption Church began as a handful of families in Pastor Lawrence’s living room but quickly outgrew that space. The new location at the corner of Covell Road and Kelly Avenue will facilitate ongoing growth as the church serves people and helps them grow. The church is a “mobile church” that has engaging ministries for children, teens, and adults.

Redemption has enjoyed partnering with teachers and staff at John Ross Elementary. Members of the church raised funds, provided Christmas gifts, donated supplies, helped with reading programs and test monitoring, and supported the launch of the PreK program.

“We are a church of diverse people from the Edmond and Oklahoma City area,” says Lawrence. “Redemption is filled with people of different backgrounds. Some of us are brand new to church, and some of us have been investing our lives in church for a long time. We love this city and the people who live here, and we would love to have you join us.”
