Team Member Spotlight | Michelle B.
Michelle serves on our Events Team and Redemption Kids Toddler Serve Teams. Thanks, Michelle, for sharing what you enjoy about serving at Redemption Church!
How did you hear about Redemption Church?
A friend in my stay at home mom group mentioned Redemption Church to me, so I thought I’d give it a try. I felt home on the very first visit.
What do you enjoy the most about working on your Redemption Serve Team?
The flexibility. I am very new to going to church on a regular basis, so almost everything I hear in service is new to me. I feel like this is the season that I need to be in service as much as I can. I serve in the Toddler Room once a month, and I also chose to serve in another area that I could volunteer with during the week. I chose the Events Team because I can do many of the tasks on my own schedule and from home.
How has it helped you disciple your own children?
I think that volunteering in any way (whether every week, once a month, or even once a year) models to our children what giving looks like. In one of the recent sermons, Pastor Jeff talked about what a church community looks like when he said, “We don’t just go to church, we ARE the church.” If our children are raised in a church family setting, where they see everyone pitching in to meet the needs of our church, then they will naturally grow into giving individuals as well. Even my teenager jumps in and helps out without complaining!
How has serving encouraged your spiritual development?
I love the way God is using me to serve and give to others but he has also blessed me with some amazing friendships that I have made along the way.
What do you like to do for fun?
When Im not busy chasing my toddler and being “mommy”, I love to scrapbook, go to the movies and have dinner with friends.
What’s a fun fact most people do not yet know about you?
Cleaning and organizing is actually therapeutic for me.
